When did you get your FP notice? I filed on 7/1, still waiting for FP. My FP for I-485 is just 6 months old. Will it have any bearing?

I e-filed both EAD and AP together for my wife on 6/30. Got AP approval but no FP for EAD yet.

    Thanks for the reply!!

I have not been FPed recently. All 3 of us (me, my wife and daughter) were FPed in 2007. Then we filed for renewal in 2008 and got the EAD with no FP.

I was told by an InfoPass officer that FP are valid for 15 months..and after 15 months if PD is not current - they electronically re-validate the FPs.

Then I had called USCIS cust serv and they told me if my PD did not become current by May '10.. I should get FP notice..since it will be 30 months (15 + 15 months) since my last FP appt.

Anyone has info about my Que no. 2 ??

What exactly do they mean by electronic re-validation? Aren't all FPs stored electronically anyway? And they validate it everytime you re-enter the country or apply for EAD....

Just got card production ordered e-mail.

    PD - Dec 2004
    RD - Aug 2007
    ND - Oct 2007

Never had any RFE. Centre - Texas.

I am expecting 2004 EB will be cleared this month. All the 2004 guys just relax and be easy ( particularly SOP ). Honestly i didnt care much before, there are million things better than gc in life. Having said that, its good to have purely for travelling purposes.

If anyone whose PD is earlier than mine, i truly apologize. Its not me, its USCIS. I have seen PDs same as mine getting approved 2 yr ago.

Stay tight and believe in yourself NOT USCIS.

Congrats! My wife's PD is close as yours. No update yet. ND is same. 2nd week of October.
I am hoping for the best!

    Hmmm,

I may as well tell my wife to accept the fact that she is likely to loose her job. Just got reply from my attorney to go for INFOPASS once 90 days have passed and request expedite.

    akhilmahajan

Did you do INFOPASS or Service Request? Is that the same or different?

Form 1-693, Medical Examination Results (sealed); (In medical examination go for chest X-ray instead of skin test).

    Hi GCWaiter,

Why do you suggest going for x-ray instead of skin test?

    Thanks.

May be a gentle reminder about contributions in other topics would help.
How sad it is that we don't get support from our own.

May be once anyone's queries get answered about any topic, a friendly reminder like "If you are satisfied with the response, please contribute to IV to help our cause". I hope the members don't make us stoop to this level.

I am not sure if someone ever mentioned triple leveraged ETFs like FAX, FAZ in finance, ERX, ERY in energy. They are good *if* you are sure hows the market will behave for the overall day. They are not for long term. But if traded correctly, can give 15-20% return. Very risky though! But still better than holding a single company stock. I would put a tight stop loss in place when trading these high risk ETFs.

Stop posting untrue post and misleading people.

The thread mentioned by you is not a donor thread. All donor threads have (donor) written before them. At this time there are zero donor threads. If we have to post an update that cannot be made public we would create a donor thread. At this time there are no donor threads.

I cannot see it either. Even after looging in, it won't allow to access the thread,

Be what you are, Don't change yourself just to fit in crowd

I read a lot in this for people criticizing"Indians" who live in rented appt and not buying house Or living froogly and all....Everyone is coming different background family history. Every one has full right to live the way they want. We should not be judging based on how they live there life, unless it interfere with your life.
If we (I Or Anyone) decides to live the Americans live like doing camping and stuff over the weekend that is totaly individual preference. We shall never say that families (Indian) who don't like or don't prefer to do out door activity and stuff there kids will have nothing to talk about at school. Eventhough I personally like camping but I don't like camping because just to copy with american.

So Let's please not judge anyone, everyone makes the choice based on whatever they think is best for them. As long as there are not doing that by hurting someone, it's fine.

I wish everyone be happy ( Homeowners OR Non HomeOwners). Live the life at fullest. Living the life to fullest does not mean just spending money. You can be happy by spending time with family, Parents and friends.

I don't want to offend anyone, But If I did with my comments . I am sorry for that.

    God bless everyone.

What should we do to pickup our file? Any thoughts appreciated
You really cannot do anything in a short time except hoping for the best. Two things have to happen for getting a GC (i) Your file should be or should already have been reviewed, and if all good to go, preadjudicated. That depends on your receive date by the Center processing your case (not RD on your receipt). This date is close to ND, and is often seen online as " your case was received on...". If this date is prior to published dates, your file definitely has been reviewed. Farther it is from the published date, lesser the chance, but approvals are indicating that if it is Aug, Sep, Oct 07 there is very good chance, though September has higher chance than October (ii) Your PD should be high enough. As per USCIS SOP preadjudicated files are piled in sequence of PD's.

Note that both conditions should be met before leftover visas exhuast. Third condition, which always plays significant role is, luck. This means, you hope that IO working on your case did not fall sick when he/she was about to look at your case, some document did not slip out of your file, person working on your case head proper eye glasses so as not to misread your PD as 2007, stack of preadjudicated cases did not fall down losing file sorting sequence, etc. etc.

Best wishes to you and all others.

When we were running this campaign with a goal to reach 10,000 members most of us were hitting a wall with a lot of new people on H1.
It seemed like a lot of new people (newly on H1- ONLY 2-3 years on a H1) did not seem to care about the issues surrounding EB Visas and the employment based GC-MESS. They simply were too new and frankly had not filed their permanent labor or given a thought about it. They were/are naive about the steps involved, the complications and the number of years it will take w/retrogression.
With this new bill S1035 in debate restricting H1-Renewals and other such things, we can get a lot of these people's attention.
So lets reach out to these people again, and get them involved. We need a lot of strength in terms of number of members and sorry, the annoying other item that I am scared to talk about is more $$.

Thank you all for response and suggestions, my company and attorney is already in Process of filling 2nd PERM for EB2 with different postion, I talked with my attoreny yesterday and told him about possibility of AUDIT, he told me :not to worry about it: we have all of the docs and reason to apply 2nd PERM without withdrawing 1st Approved PERM for EB3. So he said nothing to loose from our side, if audited then matter of time.
    Thanks Again

"One can have a good quality of life in a small apartment...."

Not true - a small apt is a small apt no matter what. Yes, you can live with peace of mind in a small apt, and yes you can live happily in a small apt. This does not equate to quality of life. The "quality of life" in a 4 bedroom house with back yard is greater than that in a small 650 sq ft single bedroom apt ( if you put the same person who was happy in the small apt into the 4 bedroom house - even if his happiness level remains the same, his quality of life just went up)

Nothing against someone buying a 4BR house. I respect everyone's decision to buy whatever they can afford. I had been to one of my friend's 4BR home in North East during winter and felt like being in a igloo. The heat was set at about 62 to save on heating cost!
I'd rather have a 2BR apartment (or a 3BR based on need) and have a comfortable temperature.

One can buy a home but ensure one doesn't become 'house poor'!

It is good to see the combined Immigration community efforts are bringing results. However, it appears that no attention is being paid to raise the issue of children ageing out because of visa retrogression and delay in labor clearance. The Child Status Protection Act(CSPA) passed in the year 2002 hardly provides any relief to I-140 based immigration petitions. While for I-130 (for US Citizens) applicants the date of child is frozen on the date of submission of I-130 form it-self, but for employment based immigrant applicants this Act provides a complicated way to calculate the childs age and it just provides relief for any processing delays in 1-140 clearance only. It just ignores the fact that we have years of retrogression for employment-based category. At the time when this act was passed there was no retrogression in employment-based category and lawmakers perhaps never thought of hardship, which children and families may face because of the retrogression.
We need to raise our voice on this issue too. My son is going to miss out the chance of getting his green card just because his age works out as per formula given in CSPA Act to be 21 years and 12 days because of 12 days my family may be penalized to be separated from our child whereas no one is going to consider 3 years delay in labor case in my case and then another 13 months we have to wait for filing 1485 after approval of I-140. Mine case was the most unfortunate in the sense that I got my I-140 approval in just 29 days whereas in all cases the normal time is 3-6 months. Had it taken 2 months, my son would have got the benefit under CSPA.
I hope some one from Immigration Voice leadership team will take a lead to highlight such issues also before the law makers.

Is there a reason this field can't be made optional or have an N/A option?

    did not know this.
what about people who already have green cards/citizenship but are interested in helping? is there no way for them to register?
we might be losing membership and/or funding there.
maybe open up a separate registration for those members

    Let me tell one example:

If 2 of our kids are sick , we'll concentrate on both of them for their recovery. If one gets recovered we'll concentrate more on other kid.Now EB2 is in good shape and EB3 is not , now it's time to concentrate more on EB3.
We took both of them to the doctor and the doctors treatment some how is working for only one... even if u change the doctor same thing..
