Finally I was greened after 4 years and 3 months from my I-140 approval date.
I opened a SR yesterday and today my CPO e-mail came to my mailbox. However my wife's status says
"On August 2, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later."
Do you know what does it mean?:confused:
I am not sure whether opening a SR helped or not. Good luck to everyone. Remember GC is something but not everything in life. Being healthy and spending quality time with your family are more important than GC.

Says they actually approved and ordered card production on 8/2/2010...

I have applied for birth certificate at Indian Consulate, SFO and received from them. They simply attested the information on my Passport on their letter head..will that be sufficient or I should get it from MRO/etc from India?
The birth certificate you get from the Consulate is not sufficient for I-485. If you don't have a birth certificate from the Municipal corporation of the city where you were born: then you need a Non-Availability certificate from that Municipal Corporation + 2 affidavits from close relatives.
Check with your lawyer for more information.

From last two days I am also getting the Payment Processing error when i use the credit card option and called the Customer service, they informed send an email to E-filing.support@dhs.gov and sent an email yesterday and still didn't receive any response back. Today When i try to goto login page, now i am getting "Server is currently unavailable or down for maintenance".
Same here, I think, it took two days for USCIS E-filing support team that payment server is not working. I interpret the message "Server is currently unavailable or down for maintenance" as now the problem would be fixed.

For once, I disagree with you macaca. If someone is not being paid, it is not considered valid employer-employee relationship. Otherwise, what is the need for showing pay stubs during the green card process?
Not being paid when on this so-called desk should be a violation of the intent of the H1B, and if there is a loophole that allows such a thing, it needs to be filled.
I am saying that it is not illegal according to USCIS laws. You are saying it is unethical. I agree it is unethical!

Yes. You can provide new address. I have done this twice and had no issues.
My current passport has my old India residential address. Now, my parents have moved to a new address. When I apply for new passport, can I provide my new India address?Do I have to provide any proof for that?Has anyone had this situation?

I talked with my lawyer yesterday, was informed that American immigration lawyers association (AILA) is filing for a class action lawsuit against DOL. There has been about 40% cases that are getting audited in Atlanta center. But after replying to queries, the center is not responding on a timely basis. There is light at the end of the tunnel.:)

But... as much as you like it their will not be a EB3-I only bill or admin fix.
Only thing which will fix the issue is EB reforms (more visa, elimination of country limits, STEM expemtions etc) which IV is fighting for.
IV is not your partent. All of us combined make IV. If you are affected more then show by acting accordingly.
Lobby now, meet your representatives now so that come March next year when CIR may be discussed our provisions are not only included but also have a solid backing.
If we do not do our share or work now, we will be disappointed when CIR or any other immi bill come up.
Show your commitment by contributing to IV. Meet law makers.

Now I am really confused between going forward with stocks vs forex. I understand that forex is traded 24x7, wont they be helpfull if you can trade during the stock market hours. What is your thoughts??

God bless everyone still in this situation. My son turns 21 in October and we too were faced with this threat. Thankfully we got our I-485 submitted in June and he even received a letter from USCIS directly to him confirming he is now locked in under CSPA protections (which we already knew, but was very nice anyway).
Our attorney had pointed to the potential in the DREAM Act proposals that keep resurfacing . Although primarily drafted to assist illegal children brough here by their parents, the provisions would also apply to children brought here in H4 who aged out. All the other conditions would have to apply, but we had intended to convert our son this fall to F1 and then hope that Dream Act would pass sometime in the next 2 years to save him before he turned 25.
Another angle for those of you trying to seek protection to explore with legislators as there is very broad support for DREAM but it keeps getting caught up in comprehensive reform agenda.
Good luck to all of you still trapped in this dilema, I share your pain and sympathize with the stress this places on you and more improtantly on your kids.

date of birth, Mothers name, fathers name, place of birth. It does not have my name and i am from India. Is it ok.. or should i get one with name.
My PD is not current but i am getting ready with all the documents, just in case it gets current.
If the certificate doesn't have your name, how will they know it's your birth certificate? :confused:

Just wait for 6- 7 weeks after online filing...It should be at ur doorstep. Unfortunately no tracking facility. Only thing you can track is that is in their system by using the online File No that would have been generated during online filing.
