good point in item 4. When i talk to people from other countries about visa issues and IV they just look at the processing dates for 485 and think that GC will be approved in 6 months.
I wish that were the case. Unfortunately visa number is allotted only after EVERYTHING else is done and that is why we have to endure additional suffering i.e. even if your case is ready for approval it will remain pending because visa number is unavailable.

I too am receiving a lot of these questions on about pick-ups/ drop-offs. Can you please start a thread for that purpose?

For those in the Bay Area: Have you contacted the new Indian Community Center in http://indiacc.org/Default.aspx (they have locations in Milpitas and Sunnyvale)? I don't live in the South Bay, but it seems like this is a pretty active space. Wonder if they would let us give a talk, and/or post flyers etc. If no one has been in touch with them, I could try.

I wanted to find about pre approved or pre adjudicated case, We have been hearing the same more often in the forum, so out of curiosity i opened a Service Request.
I kind of have a good relation ship with the former employer, worked with them for 4 years. I just called my company HR and he said he does not know my name is on withdrawn list but he will check the list and let me know tomorrow.
Is it just out of curiosity you inquired about your pending 485?
Do you have a good relationship with your former employer? If so, you can ask them and verify if they withdrew your I-140...in any case that should not matter as long as you have passed the 6 months period after applying I-485.

In what part of the world is standing up against drug peddlers and traffickers is limited to "personal" interpretations of moral? Drug laws are not intended to satisfy some lawmakers personal morals, but it is there because selling drugs is illegal regardless of what yours, mine or anyone else's personal moral fabric is.

My spouse is landing here on Aug 15. That leaves only one day to get medicals done. Any suggestions on how to handle this ? Can she skip skin test and take X-rays directly ?
For skin PPD test , you have to go back to Doctor after 24-72 hours to show the reaction.If nothing comes up its good , but incase you are positive then you will have to go for XRay , so obviously you need to plan for more than 1 day.

How much does technology come into picture? I changed jobs using AC21 and am on EAD, my new job utilizes only 50% of the skills from previous job and am getting trained in new technologies in the new job. I am not sure if the new employer will list all technologies mentioned in the labor, but will definitely list all those that are being used. Any comments?

In my labor , the job duties are very generic, I doubt my new evl will have same job dutes but eventually, both are S/W development. I am not sure how much it impacts ?

Being a big company they may have their own IT dept. If we can find out if they either outsource their IT dept or hire H1-bs than he may not have much to argue..my 2cents.

I think this has a better chance than rest of other EB bills, because US wants more skilled persons and by defintion advanced degree holders from US in STEM are. Congress extended 20,000 H1 visa for US masters and PhD graduates some years ago whereas they were and are loathe to extend the total H1 numbers.
Going by this logic, I think this bill will go farther and gain traction. Lets's keep our fingers crossed.:)
In one stroke, this bill helps both a) US advanced degree graduates and b)non US graduates (i.e, EB applicants), as 1) it puts EB1 and EB2 in non quota category (I,C,P,M and ROW) and 2) frees up EB1 and EB2 numbers for EB3.

I closed my PPF account twice and never paid a single paisa. The second one I closed when I was in US and got the forms here through my old employer and Signed and send those form back to that employer , they filed it, Don'y know if they attached "NOC" but I got all of my money (close to INR80K) in 2 or 3 weeks at my home address in India.
I guess no one needs to pay money for to PPF in any state all you need tyo do is follow the proper instructions, It's as good as in any bank.

I just opened this thread casually and found so many helpful messages to a single problem. I am so glad to know that there are so many good people around to help their fellow beings. I sincerely appreciate each and everyone who took time to help in someway.
We often complain for petty things, I guess we should equally encourage the good deeds of other people.

I am in similar situation, I have already changed my job after 180 days of filing my 485 (140 approved) and working with a small consulting company. Currently where I am working client willing to hire me as a fulltime employee with the same titile and giving me the supporting letter with the same job duties mentioned in my LC (I have added few more technologies it).
Even my attorney says the same, no need to inform CIS - when we get the RFE we will see.
Can you kindly let me know all the documents I need to gather and what I need to request from new employer in order to submit AC21 bunch to CIS.
Here are job discriptions with titles.
Old Employer.
Title: Computer Systems Analyst.
Analyze systems requirements, procedures & problems to automate process. Write description of user needs, program functions & steps to develop and modify systems. I would like to know How to file a complaint about labor fraud? I just found out that my employer didn't file 485 for me and instead he used the labor for someone else. Is there anyway I can file a complaint? I have no other option except to wait until the dates are current again. I paid all the expenses for labor, 140 and 485.
Is he Narendra Mandalpa a.k.a Nick? Yes he does all this fraud all the time and I heard that he got Jail also but unfortunately he got only 20 months and may be he is back and started doing this again?
Or who knows how many Nicks are there in this country. All of these bastards should be deported back to their countries. Sorry to be so harsh but I couldn't fine better word then this for these kind of people in this country.
