    Unfortunately, the only solution is to take your camera to a Nikon repair center. It seems that the D2H's meter failing is alarmingly common, from what reports one reads online. If your camera is yet under warranty, then you're in luck. Otherwise, it may be a US$200 - $300 repair. :(

    I also received the same message for my i485 application. Still have not recvd it. Anu updates from your end ?

    I just got my FP notices which were returned to USCIS as undeliverable as I changed address. They mailed the same notice back with the old envelope (with post office label saying undeliverable - cannot forward as return service requested).

    They send the same notice back. They didnot reschedule my FP appoitnment. I am glad they did not because after I missed my appt my attorney got a copy and then went in a walk-in and got my FP done...I was worried as my inquiry about missing FP notices might have made them send a new notice with a new appoitnment date.. I am glad they checked the system and saw that my Fing prints are already in the system....

    In your case, it might any of the returned notices....

    Does anyone know what is the current count on H1-B Visas left for the year 2006-07 ?

    I know I may sound stupid and probably the answer is that it is already complete, but wanted to confirm.

    Also, when would the next years quota become available and when can one start working at the earliest ?

    Is there any other way to file for H1-B now and work..?

    I've found this site to be very helpful so far and would like to ask for some opinions on my case.

    My I-485 (EB2) was submitted in 2007 and the PD is approaching, only 5 days away based on June's VB. My girlfriend is currently with F-1 visa and we are planning on getting married asap so that she can submit her 485 before my case is approved.

    Here's the complete list that I can think of based on the research that I've done.

    Documents that my future wife's need prepare

    I-485 form
    birth certificate
    marriage certificate
    medical exam
    passport pages (I-94 card ect)
    I-20 form
    Two photos


    Documents that I need prepare

    My I-485 receipt
    ????

    It is very important to get married before your GC is approved. Even if you are 1 day late, you cannot file I-485 or follow to join. So its better to get married before June 1st to remove any such risk. Good luck!

    Friends, my 140 was filed in late July 07 and it is at TSC. Going by the timeline posted on their site, I am likely to hear from TSC by late Jan 08 (i.e., six months after July 07). Any recent experiences about whether the online status changes on time or you first get the approval/RFE/rejection physically and then online status reflects the status afterwards?

    They will staple both the paassports and send back to you.
    You need to carry your old&New passports together all the time.


    Hi,

    My passport will be expiring in next 6 months. I do have an appt pending with US embassy Bombay. I have some queries, if someone can please guide me:

    1. What happens to old passport. I took Appt with old passport number?

    2. Can I keep my old passport?

    3. Is it OK to go for new renewed passport? Or will it impact the H1B stamping and interview process?

    Pls suggest.

    AILA Leadership Has Just Posted the Following:


    The Senators are coming, the Senators are coming! That's right, the Senate is debating the DHS Appropriations bill right now, and immigration amendments are being offered. I blogged about the Sessions E-Verify proposal yesterday. Well bill, that passed by voice vote this morning, but not before the Senate voted down a proposal from Senator Schumer to table the Sessions proposal. Senator Leahy, in an astute move prior to the vote on Sessions' E-Verify bill, amended that bill to include a permanent extension of the EB-5 Regional Pilot Program. So, Leahy's amendment permanently extending the EB-5 Regional Pilot Program was approved too!

    Senator DeMint from South Carolina threw in a bill to mandate the construction of actual fences along 700 miles of the Southern Border, taking away the right of DHS/CBP to decide how best to protect that border. That has also passed.

    Senator Hatch has now introduced a bill which includes positive changes including undoing the Widow Penalty, and a religious worker extension and a rural doctors program extension. You can still call the Senate Switchboard to voice your support for this latter bill, and your disgust with the Senate passage of laws without debate that will affect millions of lives and cost billions of dollars. You can reach your Senator by calling 202-224-3121.

    All of these amendments, of course, must now go back to a conference committee with the House, and there is no guarantee that any of them will become law. But, lest you thought your time to relax from calling your Congressman was over, it has now started again.     I filed my I-485 in July 07 at Nebraska service center and my wife had her finger printing done a month or so ago but I am yet to get the notice. Is there some number I can call and check. My Lawyer is very uncooperative in this case.

    please call the USCIS customer service number. Search the forum and you will find a lot of threads regarding this.

    I think the processing time for I-485 at NSC is complete BS. Its hard to believe that they have pre-adjudicated all the employment based applications received in July-Aug'07.

    I am a question regarding h1b stamp.

    I am working for a company (A) and I have visa stamp for company A until Dec 2010. I am planning to switch to company B soon. I was wondering if I need another visa stamp with company B or the same stamp will do. I am planning to visit India in February.
