There are websites that the US consulates maintain listing the case numbers with their status. I am currently waiting for my H-1B visa petition decision in hyderabad. Below is the link the website maintained by the US consulate in hydererabad. There are similar websites for other US consulates in India

221g covers a broad sprectum of pending cases, be it name check or any other administrative processing. I personally was requested additional information that I have submitted about 5 weeks ago. This website is update twice weekly with each case status (pending, awaiting petitioners response, send passport).

PD 2001..got labor certfied online on June28 2007
I have been waiting for the hard copy..so my Hr called Dol and asked whether they have mailed. The Dol officer sent the Cover letter by email (first page of whole approved package) to company HR showing the certification . She also told HR that cover letter was enough for I140 filing.
Is it true? Please let me know.

Is there a time limit for one to travel on Advance Parole. I was told that if a person travels abroad and intends to enter using AP, the maximum time allowed is 6 weeks, is this true?

No need I-485 receipt.. I came on AP they didn't asked the receipts of I-485
even if they ask the copies are enough.

I had a similar situation, and I had to change the employer and start all over again. However, your situation looks much better than mine. I was trying to find a lender to vouch for my employer, but that didn't happen. Your employer, on the other hand, has the lender. I believe you should be fine. The only area I'm not sure about is the period of time you didn't work for the health reason. This one I would consult about with a lawyer, since you are supposed to be employed while on H1b, or else you're out of status. There may be certain exceptions (like health-related issues) in the law.

I have filed my H1B extension on November as my H1B is expiring on 23rd Feb.
I haven't got my approval yet. I have currently EAD and my I140 approved.
My question is if I don't get my approval on or before 23rd Feb what will happen to my status?
My Lawyer said once you filed you have 140 days (or 160 days forgot) for approval meaning even if it does not get approved on or before I will be on H1B till I complete 140 days from date of filling.
Please advise.
Since you have already applied for your extension & I think you should be fine until 240 days beyond your current H1 expiry date. I filed my H1(8th year) ext on Oct 21st, 2007 and got my approval notice via mail directly to my employer on Jan 31st. Useless online status still shows "Case received and pending"...:D

Hi,
I have H1 that is valid till 2011 but when I entered using H1 ( I had EAD and AP also), the visa officer gave i-94 only till Jun 3rd 2009. I did not notice this error at that time. I realized this when my attorney pointed out this while applying for my new AP. The attorney suggested that I should go out of the country and re enter on EAD/AP and start working on EAD. What are my options ?
1) My EAD is valid till 2010
2) My current H1 is valid till 2011
3) My current AP is Valid till August 28 2009
4) My I-94 expired on June 3rd 2009.
5) My H1 visa stamp expired on May 2009
Should I go to Canada or Mexico and re-enter US with EAD/AP before my AP expires to start working on EAD and avoid any "out of status" issues ?
