If it was dropped it could be a damaged hard drive. Try to see if you can boot the mac from the recovery disks.

Just got here.
There is about 20 people. A lot of them look like they're in groups, though, so its hard to tell if 20 people = 20+ iPads already called for.

 I much prefer the old iPod mini colours, find the new ultra-neon scheme a bit 'too' much.

Strange. It doesnt really have all that much info in it. It just has pictures of the p58 and since it has come out it isnt really that informative anymore. The reason the one that the one i got from apple is interesting is that it has a mention and the circuitry info for firewire 2 ports.

Not everything has to have proper punctuation to stand out and mean something, I mean look at the book "The Road" there is barely any punctuation in that novel but it won the Pulitzer Prize. "air" or A.I.R. woud be too giving.

Seems like a looooooooong time to wait for the top of the line mac
that's two months+ away and by then, tibook may be at 1 ghz and have 64 MB ati video card or ddr ram...or both
...and that may steal high end sales since there must be a lot of pros who are contemplating a tower or a tibook, now that laptops are truly desktop replacements

what kind of ram did u order and from where? can u please post a link, i want to max out my ram aswell but i dont know which one is the right one to buy for the new imacs
Any DDR3-1333 (PC10600), 1.5V, CL9 204-pin SO-DIMM will work. I ordered Micron (Crucial) since that's almost always what ships in your Mac anyways.

Need AT LEAST a 64 mb video card.
better paint is a MUST.
1+ ghz would be very nice.
1.5-2 GB or ram would be good, fake ddr even better.
superdrive would be nice, but not necessary.
bluetooth would be a nice, cheap addition.
humm..... firewire 2 would be cool (donde estas?), as well as usb 2.

Look into the Cylinder of Destiny/Golden Triangle.
In this scenario you use AD for authentication and OD for computer/user management. This would be the best way to do what you are trying to do.
Alternatively, use AD alone and use something like Casper from JAMF or Absolute Manage.

Not much to say that the title already hasn't. Where have you seen really old Macs that are still in use every day?
I'll kick the thread off. A few months ago when doing a one-shot voiceover gig, the guy at the front desk of the recording studio I went to was still using one of the original translucent white iBook G3s. It was running OS X, but I didn't look closely enough to see what release. This was in Tokyo, up towards Akihabara.
