No, the connectors are completely different. The MacBook Air charger looks like MacBook and MacBook Pro chargers. The iPad charger is more like an iPhone/iPod Touch charger, I believe.

Exact same issue here. Are you, by any chance. using a 2011 MBP? My iMac's updated fine, but I get this issue only on my MBP.
I've tried reinstalling DP2 and then upgrading to the new build twice now and get the same issue - only way I can get around it is to completely reinstall DP2, but not install last night's update.
It's so frustrating, because everything feels snappier and more responsive on my iMac - I'd love it on my MBP.

I also have the aftermarket charger, and all this time, I thought my light didn't work.

I think my choice of light has a lot to do with conditioning through my time being educated as a photographer.
The school had 8 studios with a complete Bron Color set for each, along with three lamps.
My place of internship had me then introduced to Bron's cheap brand "Hensel" and when I went on to the 2nd department of that studio I was back on Bron Color.
During the last year of my studies I was working with Pro Foto and almost immediatly after I was done I worked with Bowens.
Yes, light is light. But the price you pay affects quality of build and durability and how much you can trust the lamps color temperature.
In my current line of work, I'm depending on lamps of 1600watts or more, below that would render my tasks impossible due to the need of high apertures and low iso. (and that's even working with Sinar where I can control the focus plane...)
At home I've settled for a Bowens flash kit with 2 500w lamps which are fine for people photography. I mostly shoot no higher than F8.
But if I had to do large pack shots I would have a problem.
What I like about the Bowens remote kit is that I could just put in two remote cards and then my pocket wizard will trigger them from far away and around corners etc.
I paid around 1500 dollars for that kit (including stands and what not)
I have no doubt in my mind that I will in time exchange my kit to Bron or Pro Foto, or just buy it as an extra set. I trust those two brands and I know for a fact that their longevity is amazing.
At my fulltime job we work on 15-20 year old Bron generators and they are as steady as they've always been... I'd like to see the same durability in a product half as expensive as Bron. I doubt you'd find it.
While Bron offers a lot of customization in their generators, I find the system of Pro Foto very intuitive and user friendly and the way they build their basic reflectors you don't even have to buy into spots etc., just tape two reflectors together :D
My tip would to save up to Bron or Pro... or even invest in a used genny. We sometimes get insane offers like 1000 dollars for a 2400w generator (yeah, my boss got connections :( )
Photographers crash and burn often and it's those guys you need to find... they often sell out their gear for pennies.
Best of luck to ya.

I think you better ask in the Ubuntu Forums (http://ubuntuforums.org/). I always find a solution to my problems with Ubuntu there.

Before I download the Lightroom trial I have a quick question.
In Aperture 3 they let you brush in and away certain adjustments, like dodge, burn, vibrancy, etc. However, they do not let you brush in/away the exposure adjustment. Does lightroom facilitate this?
Thanks

Just curious what magazines everyone subscribes to, or steals from the dentist's office.
Me?
Layers, Macworld, Communication Arts, Print, How, Playboy (articles), & Maxim (pictures).
What about you? Don't be shy.

In my Ipad app, I have a split view in which the detail view is a scroll view... I have 3 subviews to the scrollview which are tableviews... How do I use (void)bringSubviewToFront:(UIView *)view to bring one of the subviews of the scrollview to the front when an action is performed? (since Views are "stacked" in the order they're added with the last one on top). Should I write the code in the subview or in the detailViewController and how do I call it?

You don't need to actually uninstall the theme to update at present. Just install over it to update. It's less trouble.
Oooh, I'm sorry, what I was trying to say was that I did this. I tried to install it over the existing version, but for some reason, it would not work on my install, and I was forced to uninstall and reinstall. But it sounds like it is an isolated case, and maybe it has something to do with one of my extensions or something (*slaps TBE* bad TBE, bad TBE :)).
I do hope that update.mozilla.org picks you up.

Awesome. :)
If you can, film a video from your phone as you walk out of the Apple store and show the line of people (which will probably be longer as daylight approaches), upload it directly from your 3GS to Youtube, and post the link on this thread. Interview the people in line!!! "Are you excited?" That would be awesome! :D
It's so great. Thanks a lots.

maybe i can not express myself good enough , when i switched from pc to apple i looked for something different , ok mainly OSX , but this little apple on the keyboard was one of these small things that made apple different
Thats fair. Apple has done many things over the past few years to become more mainstream. Writing iTunes for Windows, making the iPod PC compatible, moving to a 2 button mouse, and this switch to Intel are all things Apple has done to lose its "different" factor. From a business standpoint its the best thing they ever could have done, but I can relate missing that feeling of uniqueness that used to come with owning a Macintosh.

Hey all,
I'm a beginning web designer, I know XHTML/CSS and also learning HTML5/CSS3. I want to start learning to create dynamic websites and need to learn some new languages, and I'm wondering which ones I should start with... the things on my list are JavaScript, jQuery, and maybe PHP.
Is this a good place to start? Some good book resources would be awesome as well!
Those three will give you a great base to work from.
php is a server-side scripting language, which allows you to do "heavy lifting", connect to databases, etc.
javascript is a client-side scripting language, which allows you to programatically interact with the rendered page
jQuery is a javascript library which bundles a lot of functions up into a cross-browser, easy-to-use package.
I'd also add Smarty, which is a php templating system, which allows you to get a nice clean separation between your display logic and your business logic.
PHP and JQuery both have fairly in-depth documentation on their sites, and w3schools has a decent javascript tutorial.

Put your tones in iTunes and Bite should see them. I use Bite and ToneFXs and I can make it work (with some small effort). Don't know about the app you use. Also keep in mind that Bite will allow you to assign a separate tone to each SMS contact you have.
